Payment & Refunds

Payment of Tuition Fees

If the students are registered in courses, by the due date for enrolment/re-enrolment, an invoice will be available in your e-mail before the due date for payment if you have an outstanding balance to pay. If you do not receive an invoice and the due date for payment is drawing near, you should contact the Student Fees Office especially if you have enrolled late or made late changes to your enrolment.

All students paying tuition fees upfront are required to pay by the due date recorded on the invoice. If you have a liability at any time for more than one fee type, you will receive separate invoices. Accounts settled by 4.00pm on the due date will avoid any financial penalties. After the due date payments will be accepted with a late fee of £125.00. Payments will not be accepted after the relevant course Census Date.

Payment methods

The following methods can be used for paying fees

  • Cheque/ Money Order/Bank Draft/Demand Draft (payable to "London College of Engineering and Management ") (If you are mailing your cheque, we recommend you use express post or registered mail.)
  • Students are able to make their payment using credit or debit card at the Student Fees Office Counter. Payments must be made by the due date.

It is recommended that posted payments be sent by "Recorded Signed For" Mail. It is also recommended that transmission reports are kept as proof of the date faxed payments have been sent. Payments made by cheque must be for the exact amount due, including any late fee due.

If a student's payment is rejected by a bank and subsequently dishonoured, any bank charges and administrative costs incurred will be passed onto the student for payment. Students will be notified of the extra charge by letter, email or phone.

Due to security and legislative requirements, cash is not accepted at Student Fees Office for tuition fees .You will be responsible for any late fee applied because of late payment, and your enrolment will be cancelled if fees are not paid by the course Census Date.

 

Penalty for Late Payment
Students who have not paid tuition fees by the due date will incur a late fee of £125.
Tuition fees, and Late Fees not paid by the course Census Dates will result in the cancellation from the program for both Home and International students.
Cancelled full-fee paying students who wish to be reinstated must pay all outstanding Tuition Fees any other outstanding fees and charges, plus an additional re-instatement fee of £250 before your enrolment will be re-instated. However, reinstatement for international students will also depend on whether or not their CAS/visa has been cancelled.
Aside from tuition fees, the following administrative charges may be levied on students.

Late Fees for Non-Compliance with Due Date

  • Late lodgement of application for admission-£125
  • Late application to transfer a course -£125
  • Late re-enrolment-£125
  • Late payment of tuition fees (first instance/week) - £125
  • Late payment of tuition fees (second instance/week)-£250
  • Late payment of tuition fees (third or more instances/weeks)-£500
  • Re-instatement of enrolment after cancellation of program in Semester 1, Semester 2 and non-standard sessions for non-payment of fees (first instance)-£250
  • Re-instatement of enrolment after cancellation of program in Semester 1, Semester 2 and non-standard sessions for non-payment of fees (second instance)-£350
  • Re-instatement of enrolment after cancellation of program in Semester 1, Semester 2 and non-standard sessions for non-payment of fees (third or more instances)-£500

Miscellaneous Charges

  • Replacement Student Card-£10
  • Administrative and bank charges for dishonoured payments-£30
  • Transfer a course -£50
Refund Policy

In the event of a Visa refusal:
Where students pay part or full tuition fee in order to obtain sponsorship (enrolment documentation) and their visa is declined, the College will refund the paid tuition fees after deducting administrative charge of £150.00 upon receipt of a copy of a refusal letter and original letter issued from the college.

Refund requests along with the documents mentioned above must be submitted to the college wit in two weeks of the refusal notice date. Refunds will NOT be considered if the documentation used in the visa application has been dimmed to be false in anyway (such as incorrect documentary evidence and financial discrepancies etc) or the documents put forward to the college in order to gain sponsorship have deemed to be deceptive. If the College is not informed of the refusal within the given time, semester's fee will be deducted from the paid fee. No interest, charges or currency exchange will be paid on a refund of any deposit.

In the event of Visa approval
If the student obtains the visa and is not willing to attend the course / college, the deposited fee is non refundable and non transferable in any circumstances.

Withdrawal before a Visa decision
Refunds will NOT be given under any circumstances if students decided to withdraw application prior to receiving decision of the visa application from British High Commission/Embassy except on grievance and health problem. Candidates' status with the college will be reported immediately to the Home Office/ UK Border Agency and local British High Commission/ Embassy.

The College reserves the right to change or amend its refund procedures at its discretion he College reserves the right to withdraw advertised courses for which insufficient number of students has enrolled and to close any class if low attendance makes it no longer viable.

No interest or costs are claimable upon any refund payments. The College will not be liable for any refund of paid tuition fees if courses are discontinued, amended or cancelled due to reasons pertaining to the external examining body associated with or responsible for the course.

Refunds will not be made to a third party unless we have received explicit authorisation from the applicant to do so. This should be in the form of a signed hard-copy letter from the applicant specifically authorising us to refund their fees to a named third party. This condition applies regardless of the source of the original fee payment.

Refunds will not be made when a student has been suspended or expelled for violation of any part of this contract or decides to withdraw from the college after commencement of their classes.

Students who knowingly provide misleading information to the college / government agencies including the immigration, or try to use fraudulent means to obtain immigration favours, and as a result have their visa applications refused will not be granted any refunds and a be subject to pay the college tuition fee in full for the academic year they have enrolled for.

Students who have been refused visas for knowingly non-compliance with either the college polices or violations of previous visas granted to them will not be granted any refunds and will have to pay the college fee in full or the academic year they have enrolled for.

All refunds are made between 6-8 weeks of receipt of a refund application form and the required documents.

Some refunds may take longer depending on the nature of individual applications and College policies.

Refund applications made after two weeks of the immigration application being refused will not be honoured, unless the student has evidence to show that they were appealing against the decision.

Once refunds are made the applicant loses all rights against the college including usage of the college name to gain favours.

Students must attend all lectures as scheduled. The college has a duty to inform the immigration officials where a student who has gained leave to enter or remain in the UK has failed to attend class without legitimate reasons. A medical certificate from a doctor must be submitted to support the absence due to illness.

Students who have gained immigration favours in the name of the college will not be allowed to transfer to another institution or change their immigration status without legitimate reason(s) before the end of their academic year otherwise the full tuition fee will be charged.
